Thousands Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms

Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the area, producing strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Locals witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Victoria's Weather Woes

At the same time, approximately 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also experienced energy failures after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.

Emergency response teams received over five hundred calls for help across the state, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both states.
